Clu Appoints Jeff Wellstead as Principal of Clu Labs, Bringing Decades of People Leadership and Innovation Expertise

A respected People Tech expert and veteran Chief People Officer, Jeff brings over 25 years of HR leadership experience across investment banking, consulting, and emerging technologies.

Jeff’s career has spanned roles in high-growth SaaS, voice-to-text recognition, NLP, AI/machine learning, eCommerce, and biotechnology companies—helping organisations navigate the people, process, and technology challenges that come with scale.

As the CEO of Big Bear Partners, Jeff has spent the last 20 years in the UK accelerating talent strategies for SME businesses in deep tech and biotech sectors and supporting mature enterprises through digital transformation. From building innovation cultures in hyper-growth start-ups/scale-ups to preparing exponential organisations for rapid scaling, Jeff is widely recognised as a leading voice in future of work strategy and people-first transformation. His current passion is focused on bringing AI into the core of HR technologies

As Principal of Clu Labs, Jeff will lead the next phase of Clu’s research and innovation agenda, including developing its professional services offering and strategic collaborations with partners in academia, government, and industry.
